Created in the late summer of the Corona Virus pandemic, this woven fiber work is nestled inside a natural terracotta clay hoop. To me this wall hanging represents the long and solitary year of 2020. Orange and brown autumn colors sit before an overflow of natural white felted yarn. The clay that wraps the fibers in this piece is a previous collaboration with a local artist Kala Stein. It reminds me now, more than ever the importance of staying connected to the creative community despite sheltering in place.
